HC Chief Justice lays foundation stone for modern District Court complex in Kondagaon, focus on better judicial infrastructure

Raipur: In a significant step towards strengthening judicial infrastructure in Chhattisgarh, the foundation stone for the new District and Sessions Court building in Kondagaon was laid virtually on Thursday during a Bhoomi Poojan ceremony held at Krishi Upaj Mandi Parisar in the district.
The ceremony was virtually performed by Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha, who underlined the importance of modern court infrastructure in ensuring efficient and transparent delivery of justice.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Justice said that well-equipped court complexes play a vital role in improving facilities for judicial officers, advocates, litigants and court staff, while also enhancing accessibility and effectiveness of the justice delivery system. He noted that such initiatives reflect the High Court’s commitment towards modernization and infrastructural development of the judiciary across the state.
The programme was attended virtually by Justice Sanjay Kumar Jaiswal, who is also the Portfolio Judge for Kondagaon district.
Among those present at the event were registry officers of the High Court, the Kondagaon district collector, superintendent of police, judicial officers, members of the Bar Association and court staff.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Principal District and Sessions Judge Khilawan Ram Rigri. A video presentation highlighting the proposed design and facilities of the new court building was also showcased during the programme.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Reshma Bairagi Patel, Civil Judge Senior Division and Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kondagaon, who expressed gratitude to the judges, officials and stakeholders for their support in organising the event.
The ceremony marked another milestone in the High Court of Chhattisgarh’s efforts to build robust judicial infrastructure and promote a more citizen-centric justice delivery mechanism in the state.
