Chhattisgarh Film Policy: Bollywood movie to be shot in Jashpur

Raipur: With the aim of promoting the production of Bollywood films in Chhattisgarh along with providing employment to the local people, the state government has implemented the first film policy of the state. Chief Minister’s advisor Gaurav Dwivedi gave detailed information regarding the film policy by holding a press conference at the hockey stadium in Jashpur on Sunday.

Collector Dr. Ravi Mittal, SP D. Ravi Shankar and journalists from electronic and print media were present on the occasion.

Dwivedi informed that according to the visionary thinking of chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, the film policy has been implemented in Chhattisgarh to promote film production in the state that will also help local people to attain employment and showcase the beauty of the state. With the implementation of the state film policy, a bollywood film is going to be shot in Jashpur for the first time. The state government announced subsidy for the development of film and TV industry. The government will give 33 per cent subsidy for Chhattisgarh films made in Chhattisgarh. Similarly, for films made in other languages but shot here, a provision of 25 per cent subsidy has been kept.

He added that Jashpur is a very beautiful district with tremendous scenic beauty and has immense tourism potential, as well is a good location for film shootings. He told that actors from the renowned series ‘CID’ namely Aditya Srivastava and Usha Jadhav, Akanksha Pingale, directors Avinash Das and Kanika Verma and producer Anees Ranjan are involved in the shooting of the film called Munurain in Jashpur.

Local people will also get employment through this process as the shooting of any film takes certain time to reach completion, for the time,  the entire unit requires accommodation, food and numerous other things that will benefit many locals. Moreover, crowd actors are also required in many scenes and locales can get involved in it, he said.

Collector Dr. Ravi Mittal informed that the children of Jashpur district were also auditioned for the film, out of which 3 girls are in the lead role and more than 20 children have been selected. The youth of Jashpur district who have special interest in pursuing films as career. Those kids are also being promoted and sent for auditions.
