Congress has announced its manifesto for Chhattisgarh’s urban civic elections, emphasising women’s safety initiatives. The plan includes distribution of free sanitary napkins to female students in schools and colleges, along with installation of CCTV cameras at educational institutions and public squares. The manifesto promises housing for homeless citizens and increases the Shraddhanjali Yojana payment from 2,000 to 5,000 rupees for BPL cardholders. Additional benefits include property tax discounts for timely payments, free library access for competitive exam preparation, and hi-tech rest facilities for journalists in all municipal corporations.
BJP’s Earlier Release of ‘Atal Vishwas Patra’
The Bharatiya Janata Party had previously released their manifesto titled ‘Atal Vishwas Patra’, containing 20 significant promises aimed at public welfare and facilities improvement.
Congress Questions BJP’s Previous Performance
In their response to BJP’s manifesto, Congress released a list highlighting unfulfilled previous promises. They challenged BJP’s credibility, pointing out that 17 out of 20 promises made under ‘Modi Ki Guarantee’ during the 2023 assembly elections remain incomplete, while three have seen only partial implementation.
