Congress Promises Over 50% Reservation, Waiver Farmers’ Debt, and MSP Law, Says Rahul Gandhi

Raipur
Rahul Gandhi, addressing an election rally in Bilaspur for Congress candidate Devendra Yadav, made significant promises ahead of the upcoming elections. The Congress leader pledged to provide reservation exceeding 50%, forgive farmers’ debt upon forming the government, and enact a Minimum Support Price (MSP) law.
Gandhi assured the audience, “We will remove the 50% reservation cap and provide more than that. As soon as our government is in power, everyone’s debt will be forgiven, and Congress will introduce the MSP law.”
Prior to Gandhi’s address, there was tension as municipal authorities attempted to remove Congress flags and banners, leading to protests. Meanwhile, Bastar candidate Kawasi Lakhma was spotted dancing during the event.

Key Highlights from Rahul Gandhi’s Speech:
Empowering India’s Youth: Gandhi urged the youth to work diligently and secure victory, promising to represent their interests in the Lok Sabha.
Defense of the Constitution: Holding a copy of the Constitution, Gandhi emphasized the significance of protecting it, declaring the ongoing election as a means to safeguard it.

Employment Guarantee: Gandhi outlined Congress’s plan to provide employment opportunities, including apprenticeships for millions of unemployed diploma holders. Additionally, the party plans to guarantee one year of employment, offering training and depositing one lakh rupees in the bank accounts of beneficiaries.
Wealth Disparity and Privatization: He highlighted the stark wealth disparity in India, where a small percentage controls a significant portion of the country’s wealth. Gandhi accused the BJP of privatizing public sector units, exacerbating inequality.
Reservation and Social Justice: Gandhi emphasized the importance of reservation for Dalits, backward classes, and tribals, criticizing BJP’s policies that undermine it.
BJP’s Agenda: Gandhi accused the BJP of aiming to dismantle the Constitution and reservation system, warning of dire consequences for marginalized communities.
Support from Chhattisgarh Leaders: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel expressed support for Gandhi’s promises, vowing to implement them nationwide. Former minister Kawasi Lakhma, also a Congress candidate, was seen dancing during the rally.
As the elections draw closer, these promises and speeches are likely to shape the political discourse, influencing voter sentiment across the country.
