Raipur
In a significant development, the Legislative Assembly in Raipur witnessed intense deliberations over the Biranpur murder case on Wednesday. BJP MLA Ishwar Sahu sparked the discussion, highlighting the need for a CBI investigation into the incident. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma responded by announcing that a thorough CBI probe will indeed be conducted.
The incident, which occurred on April 8, involved the murder of Bhuneshwar Sahu, with the names of 34 accused individuals being revealed. While 12 suspects were apprehended, questions arose regarding the delay in arresting the remaining perpetrators. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma shed light on the sequence of events, citing a reconciliation meeting within the community following a dispute among four schoolchildren as a precursor to the tragic murder.
Amidst growing concerns, the complaint lodged by Bhagirathi Sahu prompted the formation of a special investigation team. Subsequently, 11 arrests were made on April 8, with additional suspects detained later. However, BJP MLA Ishwar Sahu raised eyebrows over the lack of action against Anjor Yadu, who was allegedly involved in instigating the incident.
Addressing the issue of illegal weapons, Vijay Sharma assured that all weapons used in the crime had been confiscated, with measures in place to prevent their presence in the village. Regarding the timeline for confiscating illegal arms, Sharma emphasized ongoing efforts through dialogue and household searches.
In an emotional plea, Ishwar Sahu, as the father of the deceased, sought assurance of justice from the assembly. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma responded with empathy, pledging collective efforts to ensure justice and meet all necessary requirements.
The discussion also touched upon the potential inclusion of additional murder cases, prompting queries about the scope of the CBI investigation. While Vijay Sharma affirmed the ongoing investigation under Section 173 of the CrPC, MLA Ajay Chandrakar emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to address such incidents.
Furthermore, MLA Gajendra Yadav sought clarity on the investigation into the murder of Sadaram in Lalpur, Kawardha. Vijay Sharma provided insights into the case, highlighting the application of the UAPA act and his personal intervention to provide financial assistance to the victim’s family.
As the assembly deliberates further on the course of action, the decision to conduct a CBI investigation reflects a commitment to pursue justice and uphold the rule of law in Biranpur and beyond. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
