Chhattisgarh govt urges Central govt for NIA probe into Sadharam murder case

The state government has urged the Central Home Secretary to conduct an NIA investigation into the Sadharam murder case in Kabirdham district of Chhattisgarh. It should be noted that relatives of Sadharam Yadav, aggrieved by the murder, had met CM Vishnudeo Sai. During this meeting, on the demand of the relatives, CM Sai assured an investigation by the NIA. CM Sai had also announced on February 28th for an NIA investigation.
On the morning of January 21, the body of Sadharam Yadav was found in Lalpur Kala of Kabirdham district. Sadharam had been murdered by strangulation. After the investigation of this case, the police arrested Ayaz Khan, Idris Khan, Sofiyan Quraishi, Abdul Mehtab Khan, Sheikh Rafiq, and a minor. During interrogation, suspicious numbers related to Kashmir were found from the mobile phones of the accused. It was found during the investigation that the voices of the accused were also heard in Kashmir.
During the investigation of the murder that took place between April 20th and 21st, Kabirdham police, after examining the mobile phones and other records of the accused, added Section 16 of the UAPA Act to this case considering the alleged involvement of terrorist and extremist Muslim organizations. This made it clear that the NIA will investigate this case.
