Chhattisgarh CM Sai Takes Direct Feedback from Villagers in Sahaspur

Raipur

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai made a surprise visit to Sahaspur in Bemetara district on the second day of the third phase of the Sushasan Tihar (Good Governance Festival). He directly sought feedback from the villagers on various government schemes.

“I have come to learn about your problems and concerns,” the Chief Minister told the villagers.

The villagers of Sahaspur were surprised when a helicopter suddenly landed in their village, as the Chief Minister’s visit was unannounced. A large crowd of villagers gathered to meet their leader. They greeted the Chief Minister with “Ram-Ram ji Ga, Chief Minister ji!” and welcomed him with garlands of marigold flowers, sandalwood paste, and a traditional aarti ceremony.

Chief Minister Sai held a “chaupal” (informal meeting) with the villagers under an old banyan tree, sitting on a cot. He discussed the implementation of various government initiatives, including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Mahtari Vandan Yojana, Nal Jal Yojana, paddy procurement, and education in schools.

“Our government is just a year and a half old, and in this short period, we have fulfilled several of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guarantees,” Chief Minister Sai said. “In our first cabinet meeting, we approved 1.8 million houses. We have also disbursed the pending two-year bonus to farmers and are procuring paddy at Rs 3,100 per quintal,” he added.

Chief Minister Sai explained that this was the third phase of the Sushasan Tihar. “In the initial phases, we collected applications from people regarding their issues. These applications are being continuously addressed by officials. Now, I have come to you personally, along with government officials, so that you can directly convey your concerns to me,” he said.

During the interaction, Poonam Sahu spoke about the benefits of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. “The financial assistance received under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana has been very helpful in meeting the needs of my family and children. The amount is credited regularly every month,” Smt. Sahu said.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Sai announced the approval of a new building for the Higher Secondary School in Sahaspur. He also announced the beautification of the Shiva temple and Hanuman temple complex, built by the Phani Nagvanshi kings in the 13th-14th centuries. The Chief Minister said that the temple complex would be developed as a tourist spot and that he would personally attend the Mahashivratri fair. Additionally, he announced the establishment of a 33kv sub-station in Sahaspur.

MLA Ishwar Sahu, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, and Secretary to Chief Minister P. Dayanand were also present.
