4 CRPF jawans injured in Sukma IED blast

Raipur: Four Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, including two Assistant Sub-Inspectors, were injured on Thursday when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded during a defusal procedure near Eladmadgu camp in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district.
The blast occurred while security personnel were conducting a routine area-domination and search operation. Upon discovering the hidden explosive, the team began the defusal procedure, during which the device detonated.
The injured personnel belong to the CRPF’s 50th Battalion and its Anti-Terrorism Team (ATT). Authorities identified them as ASI M.K. Tiwari (ATT) and ASI Aneesh Khan (50th Battalion), both of whom sustained serious injuries, along with Inspector Amarnath Mishra (ATT) and Head Constable Kuldeep Raj (50th Battalion), who suffered minor injuries.
Following the explosion, team members rushed the injured personnel to the Community Health Centre (CHC), Konta for initial treatment. Medical officers later referred all four to Bhadrachalam in neighbouring Telangana for specialized care.
Security forces have stepped up vigilance in the area and launched a search operation in the surrounding forests to track down the insurgents who planted the explosive.
