RAIPUR
A woman gave birth to three boys through normal delivery at the Dantewada district hospital on Wednesday.
The mother, a resident of Bandipara in Parcheli village under Katekalyan block, was admitted as a high-risk pregnancy case. She delivered the triplets between 3 pm and 3.30 pm. The babies weighed 1,870 grams, 1,875 grams, and 1,750 grams at birth. Doctors confirmed that all three infants are stable, but they have been shifted to the Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) for monitoring due to low birth weight.
Health staff in Katekalyan identified the high-risk condition early in the pregnancy. The local health team monitored the woman continuously, arranged regular sonography tests, and ensured follow-ups through the local Mitanin worker. The team also encouraged her to take iron and calcium supplements as prescribed.
As the delivery date approached, the team referred her to the Dantewada district hospital. The obstetrics and gynaecology team managed the delivery, while pediatricians and SNCU staff took charge of immediate neonatal care after birth.
Dantewada Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Ajay Ramteke stated that the successful management was possible due to timely identification of the high-risk pregnancy, regular follow-ups, prompt referral, and coordination between specialist teams at the hospital. He commended the Katekalyan health staff along with the obstetrics, gynaecology, pediatrics, and SNCU teams at the district hospital.
The father of the triplets, Durgaram Vetti, expressed happiness over the safe delivery of the children.
