Raipur: Police have arrested four youths for allegedly gang-raping a minor girl in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district, officials said on Thursday.
According to the police, the victim had gone out with a male acquaintance. The acquaintance, along with three of his friends, allegedly sexually assaulted her.
The incident came to light after the girl failed to return home at night. Her family members subsequently lodged a complaint with the police. Search operations were launched immediately, leading to the recovery of the minor in an abandoned condition in the Korar area.
Kotwali police have taken all four accused into custody and initiated further legal proceedings. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the sequence of events and additional facts related to the case.
