Under the ‘Cyber Jagriti Abhiyan’ and the ‘Samvad Se Samadhan’ initiatives, the North Zone of the Raipur Police Commissionerate organised cyber awareness programmes across various schools and colleges on Tuesday, reaching around 1,600 students and staff members.
The sessions were conducted under the direction of Police Commissioner Dr Sanjeev Shukla, with guidance from Additional Police Commissioner Amit Tukaram Kamble and supervision from Deputy Commissioner of Police (North Zone) Deepmala Kashyap and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Aditya Pandey. The campaign aims to educate students and the general public about emerging online frauds and practical measures for digital safety.

As part of the drive, the police covered multiple institutions across different jurisdictions:
St. Pallotti College, Kampa (Pandri): Around 200 students received training on digital security, online fraud prevention, and safe internet practices.
New Tech Public School, Vikas Nagar (Gudhiyari): Approximately 200 Class 11 and 12 students, along with school staff, learned about online safety and were encouraged to sensitise their families.
Government School (Khamhardih): About 200 students and teachers attended an interactive session on preventing cybercrime.
Ishwar Public School, Birgaon (Urla): Over 1,000 students and local residents participated in an extensive programme that also covered road safety and the new criminal laws.
Government Middle Primary Abhyas Shala, BTI Ground (Shankar Nagar): Around 200 children interacted with officers under the ‘Samvad Se Samadhan’ programme, receiving guidance on cyber safety and awareness regarding ‘good touch and bad touch’.
During the sessions, officials advised students against clicking on suspicious links or messages, downloading unverified APK files, and sharing sensitive financial details like OTPs, PINs, CVVs, or passwords. Officers warned against fake KYC calls, individuals posing as bank officials, online investment scams, and social media fraud.
Police encouraged students to educate their parents on cybersecurity, follow the official social media handles of the Raipur Police Commissionerate, and scan the provided QR codes to join the digital safety initiative. Officials instructed citizens to immediately call the national cyber helpline number 1930 and lodge a formal complaint in case of financial fraud.
