Two leaders from Chhattisgarh get posts in new BJP national team

RAIPUR
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin announced the party’s new central team on 17 August 2026, comprising 65 office-bearers. The new team includes two leaders from Chhattisgarh. Mahasamund MP Roop Kumari Choudhary has been appointed national president of the party’s Mahila Morcha. Senior party leader Deepak Mhaske has been named national convenor of social media.

Party insiders state that Choudhary’s appointment reflects an effort to strengthen state-level organisation and elevate women’s leadership. Meanwhile, Mhaske’s inclusion signals a focus on digital outreach, following his long association with the party’s online campaigns.

The new appointments come into effect immediately. The 65-member team features leaders from across various states. Rajasthan leader Vasundhara Raje, Tirath Singh Rawat from Uttarakhand, Ram Madhav from Delhi, and Baijayant Jay Panda from Odisha feature among the national vice-presidents. Vinod Tawde, Sunil Bansal, Biplab Kumar Deb, Smriti Irani, Dr. Satish Poonia, Gajendra Patel, Harish Dwivedi, and Sanjay Bhatia have been assigned roles as national general secretaries.

The national team includes 12 women office-bearers. Vasundhara Raje, D. Purandeshwari, Rekha Verma, Varshaben Doshi, Dr. Bharati Pawar, and Dr. Madhuchandra Kar take charge as national vice-presidents.
