
Raipur: A Dial 112 police constable, Sandeep Sharma, has been suspended for allegedly reaching late to the scene of a road accident and misbehaving at the spot.
The incident occurred late on June 30, 2026, when a car and a motorcycle collided on the service road near City Centre Mall in Raipur. According to the official order, Constable Sandeep Sharma (Batch No. 1250), who was deployed with the Dial 112 emergency response service, allegedly arrived at the accident scene after a considerable delay despite receiving the alert. He was also accused of inappropriate conduct at the scene.
Taking serious note of the alleged negligence and misconduct, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Zone) Umesh Prasad Gupta placed the constable under immediate suspension.
During the suspension period, Sharma has been attached to the Raipur Reserve Lines and will receive a subsistence allowance as per the rules.
The Station House Officer (SHO) of Devendra Nagar Police Station has also been directed to conduct a preliminary inquiry into the incident and submit a detailed report within seven days.
