Raigarh Police organize Menstrual Hygiene Workshop for Women Personnel, focus on Health, Dignity and Workplace Safety

RAIPUR: Raigarh Police, in collaboration with NGO ‘Aagaz – Ek Nayi Pahal’, organised a Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) Awareness Workshop for women police personnel at the Urdana Police Lines on Sunday.

Held under the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shashi Mohan Singh, the initiative aimed to prioritise the health, dignity, and workplace facilities of women personnel. The workshop focused on promoting a scientific understanding of menstrual health, breaking social stigmas, encouraging safe hygiene practices, and educating participants on eco-friendly sanitary waste disposal.

Monica Ijardar, Nodal Officer of the District Sanitation Mission and founder of Aagaz – Ek Nayi Pahal, explained the scientific aspects of menstruation, personal hygiene, and health precautions. She emphasised the importance of maintaining clean hygiene practices in both daily life and the workplace.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Unnati Thakur spoke about workplace dignity, the correct use and storage of sanitary products, and environment-friendly disposal methods. She said that health awareness is the foundation of better work efficiency and self-confidence.

At the end of the workshop, the women police personnel pledged to spread awareness about menstrual hygiene across society.

The programme was attended by Aagaz members Jai Kumar Chauhan, Prakash Jaiswal, Rajendra Sahu, and Nishi Chandel, along with women police personnel from various police stations across the district.

SSP Shashi Mohan Singh said, “The health, respect, and safety of our women police personnel remain our priority. Awareness, scientific thinking, and proper health management empower them to perform their duties effectively and serve society with greater strength.”
