Nagpur Officers XI defeat Bilaspur Officers XI by four wickets in T20 cricket tourney
Raipur : Nagpur Officers XI clinched a four-wicket victory over Bilaspur Officers XI in the Inter-Divisional T20 Cricket Tournament organized by South East Central Railway (SECR) at the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Stadium in Civil Lines on 20 June 2026.
Nagpur Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Deepak Kumar Gupta attended the match as the chief guest to encourage the players.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Bilaspur Officers XI scored 126 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Arvind top-scored with 27 runs, while Sameer Mathur (17), Harish (13), and Atul (11) made useful contributions.
For Nagpur Officers XI, Amit Kumar picked up two wickets. Lokesh Sharma, Ayush Khare, Dilip Singh, Deepak Kumar, and Tanmay Mukhopadhyay claimed one wicket each to restrict the opposition.
Chasing a target of 127 runs, Nagpur Officers XI reached the mark in 16.5 overs after losing six wickets. Dilip Singh anchored the chase with a crucial 37 runs off 33 balls. He received support from Lokesh Sharma (30 runs), Ayush Khare (21 runs), and Arvind Shaw (12 runs). Bilaspur’s Rahul Garg was the pick of the bowlers, taking two wickets.
During the post-match presentation ceremony, DRM Deepak Kumar Gupta congratulated both teams. He noted that sports tournaments help foster mutual coordination, leadership qualities, team spirit, and healthy competition among officers and staff, urging them to maintain the same enthusiasm for future sporting events.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager and Senior Sports Officer Dilip Singh received the ‘Man of the Match’ award for his all-round performance. Lokesh Sharma won the ‘Best Batter’ award, while Bilaspur’s Rahul Garg bagged the ‘Best Bowler’ trophy.
Aniruddha Sarvate, Radhe Shukla, Ritesh Inumulla, Amit Anthony, and Vipin Madne assisted in organizing the tournament.
