ESIC reserves 700 medical seats for children of insured workers

The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) under the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment has reserved 700 MBBS and BDS seats across 20 medical colleges nationwide for children of insured workers from the organised sector.

The last date for online applications, which was earlier 31 May 2026, has now been extended to 21 June 2026.

Admission Through NEET UG Merit

According to the Labour Commissioner’s office, admissions to these reserved seats will be granted on the basis of the NEET UG merit list. Eligible students can apply through the official ESIC website.

Objective of the Initiative

Officials said the reservation policy aims to provide better opportunities in higher medical education to talented students from worker families. The initiative is expected to help students from economically weaker sections pursue careers in the medical field.
