Congress Alleges Insult to Journalists by Dhirendra Shastri, Targets BJP Over Use of Government Aircraft

Raipur

Chhattisgarh politics heated up on Saturday after the Congress accused narrator and preacher Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of insulting respected journalists of the state. The party also alleged that BJP ministers misused a government-chartered aircraft to bring Shastri to Satna.

Congress Communication Department Head Sushil Anand Shukla said journalists were told, “Any journalist who is feeling itchy may ask a question,” calling the remark a direct insult to the media and an attack on the fourth pillar of democracy.

Shukla said that the journalists had not gone to the event on their own but were invited by BJP leaders. “Then why are they being insulted for asking questions? This is not just misbehavior, it is arrogance flourishing under the protection of power,” he said.

He further alleged that when the entire government is busy paying obeisance at someone’s feet, it becomes natural for such people to lose control over their language. According to him, this incident reflects the growing disregard for democratic values and media freedom under the BJP.
