Chhattisgarh Announce 16-Member U-16 Squad for Vijay Merchant Trophy, Anshuman Thakur to Lead Team in Lucknow

Chhattisgarh State Cricket Sangh (CSCS) has announced a 16-member men’s under-16 squad for the Vijay Merchant Trophy 2026-27, scheduled to begin in Lucknow on November 14. Anshuman Thakur of Raipur will lead the side, which will begin its campaign against Maharashtra.
The squad comprises players from across the state, including Raipur, Bilaspur, Raigarh, Bhilai, Mahasamund, Rajnandgaon and Durg. Kundan Kothari of Bhilai and Vedant Pandey of Durg have been selected as wicketkeepers.
The team will begin its preparations with practice sessions at the RDCA Cricket Ground in Raipur from 2 pm.
Chhattisgarh have been placed in a group with Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Goa. The team will play five league matches in Lucknow, with its opening two fixtures scheduled at the GCRG Cricket Ground.
Chhattisgarh will take on Maharashtra from November 14 to 16, followed by Uttarakhand from November 19 to 21. Both matches will be played at the GCRG Cricket Ground.
The team will then face Karnataka from November 25 to 27 and Rajasthan from November 30 to December 2 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium B Ground. Its final listed group fixture is against Goa from December 6 to 8 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium.
