Appellate Tribunal is an important forum to protect the interests of consumers of real estate sector: CM Baghel

Raipur: Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday virtually inaugurated the newly constructed building of the Real Estate Appellate Tribunal at Moulshree Vihar Colony Raipur through video conferencing from his residence office here. 

“RERA and Real Estate Appellate Tribunal forums have been set up under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 to resolve disputes related to the real estate sector. The parties aggrieved by the decision of RERA or other authority concerned may appeal to the Real Estate Appellate Tribunal. The Real Estate Appellate Tribunal will prove to be an important forum in protecting the interests of consumers and colonizers”, said the chief minister.

He added that it is the responsibility of the government to protect the interests of both colonizers and consumers. Increase in transparency will decrease disputes and the sector will flourish eventually.

The Chief Minister said that during the last three and a half years, despite all kinds of challenges, there was good growth in every sector of Chhattisgarh, including the real estate sector. He said that the real estate sector is linked to the dreams of the people. A beautiful house is the dream of every person. Continuous efforts are being made at the government level to fulfill the housing needs of the people through various schemes. The real estate sector is being encouraged by giving concessions and facilities.

Real Estate Appellate Tribunal chairman Justice Sharad Kumar Gupta said on the occasion that the Appellate Tribunal has been established to protect the buyers of buildings, land, shops from exploitation and protect their interests by investing their capital in the real estate sector. 

Food minister Amarjeet Bhagat, parliamentary secretary U.D. Minj, chief minister’s secretary Dr.S Bharathidasan along with other senior officials were also present.
