Industrial Policy of Chhattisgarh Government is attracting entrepreneurs to establish new industries

In the last three and a half years, 178 MoUs have been signed for the establishment of new industries in the state, for which capital investment of more than Rs.90 thousand 77 crores is proposed. These industries will employ around 1 lakh 10 thousand 303 people.
According to the information received from the Commerce and Industries Department, a capital investment of Rs 4,126 crore has been made in the state under the MoU for the establishment of new industries. By May 2022, production has started in 11 industrial units established in the state. Meanwhile, under the leadership of chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, Chhattisgarh’s new industrial policy has come into effect, which has created a conducive environment for the establishment of industries and businesses in the state. The rules related to the establishment of new industries have been simplified under the Ease of Doing Business. A single window system has been implemented to provide various clearances to the industries. While many services have been made online, ‘practical provisions’ have been made for the allotment of land to industries and freeholding of land.
Under the Ease of Doing Business scheme, the process of various types of approval, license and registration has been simplified by using state-of-the-art information technology-driven systems to simplify the procedures of the concerned government departments for the establishment of new industries. Arrangements have been made to complete all the processes within the stipulated time frame. Before the formulation of the new industrial policy, practical provisions have been made in consultation with various industrial associations, and industrialists.
