Raipur. A bizarre incident has come to light in Korba district, where a young man reached the Civil Lines police station, demanding to be with his girlfriend. He declared, “I want the girl, that’s it—otherwise, I will commit suicide right here in the police station.” Despite efforts by the police to pacify him, he remained adamant. Authorities are now preparing to take preventive action against him.
According to sources, 24-year-old Ashutosh Verma, a native of Rewa, currently resides in a rented house in Risdi Jhagraha. He met the girl on Instagram, and their online friendship soon blossomed into love. However, when the girl’s family learned about the relationship, they strongly objected and forbade any further interaction between them.
Madly in love, Ashutosh stormed into the police station and repeatedly insisted on getting the girl, even in front of the TI (Town Inspector). He continuously threatened to end his life if his demand was not met. The police made several attempts to reason with him, but he refused to budge.
Authorities have initiated preventive measures against him, and his family has also been informed about the situation.
