Raipur: Bharatiya Janata Party national president Nitin Nabin appointed former Union minister Smriti Irani as the state in-charge for Chhattisgarh and Haryana on Wednesday, as part of a fresh list of state in-charges and co-in-charges announced across states and Union Territories.
Siddharth Shambhu will assist Irani as co-in-charge in Chhattisgarh, and Dr Bhola Singh will serve as co-in-charge for Haryana. The appointments come into immediate effect.
In key political states, senior leader Vinod Tawde takes charge of Uttar Pradesh, supported by Jagdish Patel, Medha Kulkarni, Dr Pradeep Verma, and Anant Ojha as co-in-charges. Sunil Bansal retains charge of West Bengal and Telangana. Lal Singh Arya, Rajendra Singh, and Pinki Kushwaha will assist in West Bengal, while Abhay Patil and Rekha Sharma have been assigned to Telangana.
Baijayant Jay Panda has been named in-charge for Maharashtra, accompanied by co-in-charges Amit Malviya, Sadanand Shet Tanavade, and Kamaljeet Sehrawat. Biplab Kumar Deb takes charge of Madhya Pradesh, with Rekha Verma serving as co-in-charge.
In southern states, Harish Dwivedi will oversee Karnataka, assisted by Dr Kasam Venkateshwarlu. Prof. M Nagaraja takes over Kerala with M Venkateshan as co-in-charge. Ram Madhav will head Tamil Nadu, supported by Nirmal Kumar Surana and D K Aruna. Dr Aravind Bhadoria and Vanathi Srinivasan will serve as in-charge and co-in-charge for Andhra Pradesh.
In northern and eastern states, Sanjay Bhatia takes charge of Rajasthan, Dr Satheesh Poonia oversees Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir, and Gajendra Patel manages Jharkhand. D Purandeshwari will oversee Odisha, and Dr Rajdeep Roy takes charge of Manipur. Rajya Sabha MP and BJP national headquarters in-charge Tarun Chugh issued the official release.
