BJP’s Meenal Chaubey Wins by 1.53 Lakh Votes; Party Secures 60 Out of 70 Wards

Raipur witnessed a sweeping victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the municipal elections, with its mayoral candidate, Meenal Chaubey, winning by a massive margin of 1,53,290 votes. She secured 3,15,835 votes, defeating Congress candidate Deepti Dubey, who received 1,62,545 votes.
In the ward corporator elections, BJP dominated the polls, winning 60 out of the 70 wards, while Congress managed to secure victory in only seven. Three independent candidates also emerged victorious.
Meanwhile, former mayor and Congress leader Aijaz Dhebar suffered a setback, losing the corporator election by 1,529 votes. However, his wife, who contested from another ward on a Congress ticket, won her seat.
The landslide victory for BJP led to celebrations at the party headquarters in Raipur, with senior leaders and workers, including MLA Rajesh Munat, dancing and rejoicing.
