Twelve Raipur Police Officers and Staff Honored as ‘Cop of the Month’ for Outstanding Service in May 2024

As many as twelve police officers and staff were honored as ‘Cop of the Month’ for May 2024 for their outstanding work.

Inspector Vaibhav Mishra was selected as ‘Cop of the Month’ for his responsible work and excellent force management, while Inspector Durgesh Rawte was chosen for his awareness programs and effective actions against drug abuse.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Raipur, Santosh Singh, initiated the ‘Cop of the Month’ award to encourage officers and staff for their excellent work in policing. Inspector Vaibhav Mishra from Raipur Police Lines was honored for his dedication and responsible work in force management. Inspector Durgesh Rawte, Station House Officer (SHO) Tikrapara, was recognized for his awareness programs and effective actions under the ‘Nijaat’ campaign against drug abuse. SI U.N. Shant from Abhanpur Police Station was honored for seizing illegal liquor. Constable Dhanesh Ratre was recognized for seizing cannabis being transported in a four-wheeler within the police station area, and ASI Sobwant Singh Rawat from CSP Kotwali Office was commended for excellent performance in assigned duties.

Constable Bhupendra Kumar Mishra from ACCU was honored for apprehending a theft suspect and recovering stolen property worth 12 lakhs in the Tikrapara area. Constable Ravikant Pandey from ACCU was recognized for apprehending a theft suspect and recovering stolen property worth 30 lakhs in the Devendra Nagar area. ASI Atulesh Rai and Constable Arun Kumar Dhruv from Tikrapara Police Station were honored for quickly identifying and arresting unknown suspects after a woman’s body was found in the Kamal Vihar area.

Constable Surendra Singh from Khora Police Station was commended for apprehending suspects and recovering stolen property in two theft cases. Constable Pramod Chandel from New Rajendra Nagar Police Station was recognized for apprehending a theft suspect along with the stolen property and the Activa used in the crime. Constable Mohammad Rajik from ACCU was honored for his commendable work against the drug syndicate. They were awarded certificates of appreciation at the SP office. Other officials and employees were also present on this occasion.

The selected police personnel will receive a cash reward, good service entry, and a certificate of appreciation. Their photos will be displayed on the notice boards of all police offices and police stations in the district for the entire month. This initiative aims to encourage other police personnel to perform well. SSP Raipur emphasized that police personnel who behave well with the public and perform their duties responsibly and faithfully will always be honored, while those involved in illegal activities or exhibiting indiscipline and negligence in duty will face strict action.

Additionally, three constables were suspended and attached to the police lines for negligence in duty and inappropriate conduct. Head Constable Yusuf Khan from Kabir Nagar Police Station was suspended for assaulting and behaving inappropriately with the public. Constables Vikas Agrawal and Shivanan Sahu from Raipur Reserved Center were suspended and ordered for inquiry after a suspect escaped from their custody during transportation.
