Women’s safety in Chhattisgarh: Pink police stations to come up in all district headquarters

Raipur
In an effort to enhance women’s safety in Chhattisgarh, Pink Police Stations will be opened in all district headquarters. Preparations for this initiative are currently underway, and a detailed plan is being developed. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma reviewed the preparations for the launch of these Pink Police Stations during a departmental meeting at the Mantralaya on Wednesday. He stated that these stations will be established to ensure a safe and supportive environment for women.
The Deputy Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of 258 roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana during the meeting. These roads have remained incomplete for the past 5-6 years due to Maoist activities and lack of security. He instructed the district collectors and superintendents of police to complete these roads as soon as possible.
Furthermore, he emphasized the need to upload products from self-help groups onto online platforms for branding and marketing, and to create their own application. He inquired about the committee led by the Chief Secretary in REPA and reviewed the payment status of the self-help groups. He directed officials to complete the necessary preparations for the start of the next academic session of CGIT and to appoint a nodal officer.
To expedite the completion of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Deputy CM Sharma called for the arrangement of training for masons. He recommended including this trade in the training curriculum. In ITIs where there are no positions for masonry training, guest speakers should be engaged to conduct the training. He also instructed necessary actions for the repair of the Government Model ITI in Koni, Bilaspur.
During the meeting, Deputy CM Sharma reviewed various works under the Janman Yojana, including the construction of houses under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme, creation of man-days, construction of Amrit Sarovar in each gram panchayat, Mahatari Sadan, and the development of master plans for gram panchayats with populations over 3,000. He also reviewed the re-launch of the Hamar Chhattisgarh Yojana. Additionally, he directed the immediate resolution of pending compassionate appointments and pension cases in the department and the re-launch of the Chief Minister Higher Education Loan Grant Scheme.
The Deputy CM instructed the promotion of the Chhattisgarh Employment App, enabling online registration, renewal, and updates for employment assistance from anywhere, at any time. This app will eliminate the need for applicants to visit district employment and guidance centers for physical verification. Applicants will be able to download their registration certificates online and receive various types of information through the app, including details about job fairs and placement camps.
