Two-Day Chintan Shivir begins at IIM Raipur with participation from CM Vishnu Deo Sai and Cabinet members

Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai inaugurated a two-day ‘Chintan Shivir (Ideation Camp)’ at IIM Raipur to sharpen a vision for a developed Chhattisgarh and India. The camp, organized by IIM Raipur, includes all Chhattisgarh government ministers and focuses on strategies for India’s development under PM Modi’s leadership by 2047.
The first session focused on “Vikasit Chhattisgarh: A vision for 10 years.” B V R Subramanyam, CEO of Niti Ayog, delivered an enlightening lecture on this theme. During his talk, he delved into the concept of a developed India (vikasit bharat) and shared strategies to make it a reality.
Subramanyam highlighted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has made significant strides over the past decade. The PM has committed to transforming India into a developed nation by 2047, and numerous strategies are already in place to achieve this. He showcased several activities undertaken by the government in the past ten years and shared the future vision and strategies.
In his address, Subramanyam stated, “PM Modi emphasizes ‘scale, speed, and innovation’ to achieve the target of developed India.” This vision is crafted considering the changing global dynamics, aiming to place India among the world’s leading nations. According to him, the world’s focus has shifted toward the global south, particularly Asia, and India is well-prepared to meet global expectations.
He further explained that India’s demographic advantages, strategic position, and comprehensive reforms are significant assets. “Whether it is digital economy, tax reforms, or supporting innovation, India has been a leader in all these areas,” said Mr. Subramanyam. He stressed the importance of continuing and enhancing these efforts to ensure prosperity for all through the vision of vikasit bharat.
Additionally, he emphasized the need to promote green energy to tackle climate change, aiming for sustainable development as a lasting result. Mr. Subramanyam explained why having a vision is essential, noting that vision provides a roadmap for achieving goals. He asserted, “Chhattisgarh has all the potential to contribute to the idea of vikasit bharat; in fact, it could be a prime mover in making India a developed nation.”
During the interactive session, the ministers showed a keen understanding of the issues and expressed their curiosity by asking numerous questions. The dialogue was lively, and Subramanyam was pleased to exchange ideas with the participants.
The camp aims to engage decision-makers and lawmakers in exchanging ideas and visions about a developed state. It also seeks to learn from field specialists and formulate clear, constructive goals to fulfill the responsibilities given by the people of Chhattisgarh through significant electoral support, replacing a Congress government plagued by corruption cases.
Innovatively, the Chintan Shivir will focus on the “convergence of schemes” and the “optimum and balanced use of resources” to propel Chhattisgarh on the path of development.
The ministers in attendance include Ramvichar Netam, Agriculture Minister; Kedar Kashyap, Forest Minister; Dayaldas Baghel, Food Minister; Shyam Bihari Jaysawal, Health Minister; Lakhan Lal Dewangan, Industry Minister; O P Chaudhary, Finance Minister; Lakshmi Rajwade, Minister for Women and Child Development; and Tankram Verma, Sports Minister.
By bringing together the state’s leadership and subject matter experts, the camp aims to create an environment conducive to innovative thinking and strategic planning. The exchange of ideas is expected to yield actionable insights and solidify plans for Chhattisgarh’s development over the next decade.
Overall, the camp is an important step toward aligning state initiatives with national objectives, ensuring that Chhattisgarh can contribute significantly to India’s broader goals. Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma were also present on the occasion.
