“UNESCO Enlists Director IMC for Vital Role in Shaping Cultural Expressions in digital sphere”

In a remarkable international recognition Mr Rizwan Ahmad, Director Instructional Media Centre , Maulana Azad National Urdu University has received an invitation to be part of the UNESCO’s expert panel for a Reflection Group on the diversity of cultural expressions in the digital environment.
Mr. Rizwan, renowned for his expertise in cultural preservation and digital innovation, has been selected to lend his invaluable insights and perspective to this prestigious initiative.

With extensive experience in the field of Audio Visual Media, Education, Administration, Cultural Communication and having expertise in digital landscape, Mr. Rizwan’s participation promises to enrich discussions and contribute significantly to the formulation of recommendations aimed at advancing cultural diversity in the digital era.
“I am deeply honoured to be selected as an esteemed expert for UNESCO’s Reflection Group on the Diversity of Cultural Expressions in the Digital Environment,” said Mr. Rizwan. “I look forward to collaborating with fellow experts and stakeholders to explore innovative approaches to preserving and promoting cultural diversity in an increasingly digital world.”
Mr. Rizwan participation underscores the importance of fostering collaboration and exchange of ideas to address the evolving challenges and opportunities presented by the digital landscape.
For this esteemed reflection group UNESCO has selected 18 experts from around the world, who will convene to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and formulate recommendations to implement the 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions in the digital sphere. These recommendations will play a crucial role in shaping future policies and initiatives aimed at preserving and promoting cultural diversity on a global scale.
The Experts will meet twice this year to present the recommendations. Mr Rizwan will be attending the first meeting of the Reflection Group during May 2024 in Quebec City, Canada to be hosted by the Govt of Canada. The entire MANUU community and colleagues have extended their congratulations to him for this recognition.
