BJP targets sweep in urban polls

Raipur, October 17. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has set its sights on a clean sweep across all urban local bodies in Chhattisgarh. A strategic meeting held at the party’s state office at Kushabhau Thakre Parisar in Raipur focused on electoral strategy, organisational preparedness and booth-level mobilisation.
Addressing the meeting, State Organisation General Secretary Karmveer Singh said the party aims to secure victory in every municipal corporation, municipal council and nagar panchayat across the state. He emphasised that taking Central and state government welfare schemes to every household and strengthening individual booths would form the foundation of electoral success. He added that the preparations would also help the party gear up for the upcoming Assembly elections.
State General Secretary Akhilesh Soni said the BJP was fully prepared to register historic victories across all urban local bodies. He claimed that the state government had undertaken unprecedented development work in urban areas over the past year. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, cities across the state were becoming cleaner and more attractive, he added.
CREDA Chairman and senior BJP leader Bhupendra Sawanni said party workers remained active at the booth level. He stated that ward-level outreach campaigns would take the government’s achievements directly to citizens and help the party secure a historic victory in the urban local body elections.
The meeting was conducted by State General Secretary Dr. Naveen Markandey. State General Secretary Yashwant Jain, State Vice-President Jagannath Panigrahi, divisional in-charges, urban body election in-charges and co-in-charges, along with other party functionaries, attended the meeting.
