Special Summary Revision of electoral rolls kicks off in Kanker with ‘Johar Voters’ Walkathon’

Kanker: Special Summary Revision of electoral rolls commenced in Kanker district today by the District Sveep Core Committee with the organization of “Johar Voters’ Walkathon.” The walkathon was led by District and Session Judge, Shri Yogesh Pareek, amidst a drizzling rain in the city. The event saw the participation of various esteemed individuals, including the Collector and District Election Officer, Dr Priyanka Shukla, SP Divyang Patel, District Panchayat CEO Sumit Agrawal, as well as all the senior officials of the district, NSS students, and members of the Women’s Self-Help Group.
The main objective of the walkathon was to encourage all citizens over the age of 18 in the district to get their names added to the voter list. At the conclusion of the walkathon, a programme was held at Government Bhanupratapdev Post Graduate College Kanker where college students and other participants of the event were administered an oath by Yogesh Pareek, creating a ‘Sankalp Chakra’, to raise awareness among people about the importance of including the names of all new voters in the voter list.
