Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has criticized the makers of movie ‘Adipurush’ with South star Prabhash and Bollywood actor Kriti Sanon on lead roles for the portrayal of character in a ‘wrong’ manner, apparently indicating a ban on the movie in the state.
Dialogues in the film have created a controversy across the country and Chief Minister Baghel joined the chorus by taking a dig at the makers. The chief minister said Lord Ram has been depicted as the warrior and Bajrangbali as an angry bird. It looks like Bajrangbali is speaking the language of Bajrang Dal in the movie, the chief minister said.
The Chief Minister also pointed out that in Tulsi Ramayana, Lord Ram has been described as Maryada Purushottam, and dialogues of the ancient Sanskrit epic are very graceful. But the dialogue of the character of Hanuman ji in Adipurush is ‘cheap’.
When Rajiv Gandhi was the Prime Minister, he got the Ramayana serial made by asking Ramanand Sagar. This mega serial aired on DD became very popular like no other serial. The pictures of Lord Rama and Hanuman were first distorted in Adipurush, and now their characters uttered indecent words. It is objectionable to call such words. The faith of people has been hurt.
Baghel said, why are the people of political parties who become contractors of religion silent in this matter. BJP leaders have been giving statements regarding Kashmir files and Kerala story, but why are they silent on Adipurush.
Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan starrer film Adipurush has been released in theaters on June 16. The film has been trolled since its release for its poor VFX and some of its dialogues. The total budget of the film is about Rs 650 crore.
