Collector orders FIR against young woman beat children at orphanage in Kanker,The programme manager is arrested


The district administration has taken back the services of the NGO which had been managing the orphanage.

After a video went viral showing a woman beating a child black and blue in a Dattak Kendra (orphanage centre) of Kanker district, district collector Proyanka Shukla has ordered an FIR against the woman and withdrawn the service of the NGO which had been managing the centre.
Cameras have been installed at the centre so that the activities of these children can be monitored. These cameras are switched off at night, because a young man, said to be the boyfriend of the woman, used to come at night. It is also said that the woman had some disputes with her boyfriend and thus she vented her anger and frustration on the children.The programme manager is arrested
The matter pertains to Pratigya Vikas Sansthan of Shivpuri ward of Kanker district, about 150 km from state capital Raipur. The accused identified as Seema Dwivedi can been seen in the video beating mercilessly the orphan children. The woman first clapped the girl, then grabbed her hair and threw her on the ground. Whn the child stood up, the accused held her arm and threw her on the bed. The child screamed, cries, starts crying, but the manager, far from showing sympathy, continues to beat her. Two meds passed by, but they did not muster courage to prevent stop the accused from doing such atrocities.
