After a video of a youth driving a scooter with a girl sitting on his lap facing the youth went viral, traffic DSP Sanjay Sahu took cognizance of the matter and ensured action within 30 minutes.
The DSP immediately contacted the owner of the vehicle by searching the mobile number from the vehicle registration number and called the youth to the police station within 30 minutes. A challan of Rs 8,800 was made against the youth who immediately paid the amount.
The traffic DSP said, “When I received the viral video of the young man violating the traffic rules on Wednesday night, I immediately summoned him to the police station for action. A challan under the Motor Vehicle Act was issued against him. The youth apologized for his act.” The traffic police will always remain vigilant and take action against those who violate the traffic rules in this way, he said.
