Raipur: In a swift operation, North Zone DCP teams arrested fugitive accused Jitesh Kumar Chandrakar, cracking down on a brazen fraud ring that duped a victim of over ₹27.5 lakh by promising loans.
The case, registered at Pandri police station (Crime No. 101/2026 under BNS Sections 318(4) and 61(2)), stems from a complaint by Krishna Rao. He alleged that Horilal Pankaj and Jitesh Kumar Chandrakar took cash and documents, then fraudulently secured loans worth approximately ₹27.5 lakh in his name from various banks.
Horilal Pankaj was arrested earlier during the investigation, with relentless searches ongoing for Chandrakar. On April 18, 2026, police apprehended the 32-year-old resident of Odan village (Baloda Bazar district) with a recent address in BSUP Colony, Dal Dal Seoni, Pandri.
During interrogation, Chandrakar confessed to financing two Voltas AC units and one mobile phone in the victim’s name, then selling them at Avon Mobile Shop.
Probe also revealed that Pankaj had affixed a fake official board on his Swift Dzire (CG 04 LQ 1046), impersonating an authority figure without any legitimate post — a deceptive act prima facie punishable under BNS Section 204, which has now been added to the case.
Further investigation into other aspects is underway.
