Raipur Jewellery Showroom Allegedly Burgled: Ornaments Worth Rs 1 Crore Stolen From Shankar Nagar Shop

Raipur: A major theft was allegedly reported at Lakshya Jewellers in Raipur, where unidentified burglars are suspected to have escaped with gold and silver ornaments worth nearly Rs 1 crore.

The incident came to light on Monday morning when staff members opened the showroom located in the Shankar Nagar area under Khamhardih Police Station limits. The shop had remained closed on Sunday.

According to preliminary information, the alleged burglary took place between late Saturday night and early Sunday morning, around 12:30 am, when the accused reportedly broke into the jewellery showroom and stole a huge quantity of ornaments before fleeing.

As the showroom remained shut on Sunday, the theft allegedly went unnoticed for several hours. The matter surfaced only after employees reopened the establishment on Monday and found the valuables missing.

After receiving information, teams from the Raipur Crime Branch and Khamhardih police reached the spot and launched an investigation. Officials examined CCTV footage installed inside and outside the showroom to identify the suspects and understand the sequence of events.

A forensic team was also called to inspect the crime scene and examine possible entry and exit points used by the burglars. Police said the investigation is underway and efforts are being made to trace those involved in the alleged theft.

In a separate recent incident linked to jewellery thefts in the region, a woman was allegedly caught on CCTV stealing gold necklaces worth around ₹2.5 lakh from a jewellery shop in Arang during Dhanteras after reportedly distracting the showroom staff.
