Major Reshuffle in Chhattisgarh Police: 20 IPS Officers Transferred, IGs of Sarguja and Rajnandgaon Replaced

Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government has implemented a significant reshuffle in the police department, transferring 20 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. The changes include the transfer of 5 Inspectors General (IGs), 1 Deputy Inspector General (DIG), 1 Additional Inspector General (AIG), and Superintendents of Police (SPs) in 9 districts.

Notably, the IGs of Sarguja and Rajnandgaon ranges have been changed. Deepak Jha has been appointed as the new IG of Sarguja Range, while Abhishek Shandilya will now serve as IG of Rajnandgaon Range.

As per the Home Department’s order, the following officers have been appointed as SPs:

  • Rajesh Agrawal – SP, Sarguja
  • Vijay Agrawal – SP, Durg
  • Bhavna Gupta – SP, Balodabazar
  • Suraj Singh – SP, Dhamtari
  • Lakshya Sharma – SP, Khairagarh
  • Anjaneya Varshney – SP, Sarangarh
  • Yogesh Patel – SP, Balod
  • S.R. Bhagat – SP, Gaurela-Pendra
  • Vijay Pandey – SP, Janjgir-Champa

Senior IPS officer Pawan Deo, a contender for the DGP post, has been made Chairman and Managing Director of the Chhattisgarh Police Housing Corporation. Ajatshatru Bahadur Singh has been posted as DIG, Intelligence, and Dhruv Gupta is the new IG, CID.

The current SP of Janjgir-Champa has been appointed as AIG, CID. Jitendra Shukla has been removed from his post as SP, Durg, and transferred to the 5th Battalion of the Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) in Jagdalpur. Additionally, Balaji Rao Somavar has been appointed as IG, Special Branch (Law and Order).
