Heavy rain causes waterlogging in Professor Colony, Raipur Municipal Corporation distributes food to 650 families

RAIPUR: Heavy rain over the past few days caused severe waterlogging in sectors 1 to 17 of Professor Colony under Pandit Vamanrao Lakhe Ward 66 in Zone 5 of the Raipur Municipal Corporation, affecting residents of around 650 houses.

Zone 5 officials arranged breakfast packets and lunch for the affected families on Saturday. Municipal teams are working continuously to drain the stagnant water from the area.

In a separate incident on GE Road, a large tree fell near Sakharam Dubey School, disrupting vehicular movement. The municipal team removed the fallen tree from the road to clear traffic.

The flood control team of Zone 5 is maintaining round-the-clock monitoring across the area to manage any further disruptions caused by the rain.
