Controversy over making gulaal from flowers trampled on roads during Priyanka Gandhi’s welcome in Raipur.

Dispatch News.
Former minister Rajesh Moonat has said- According to Sanatani religious beliefs, on the second day of “Holika Dahan” on “Dhuledi”, the festival starts by offering colours to the Gods and Goddesses, then by applying colours to the elders! Can you offer gulaal made of flowers trampled on the roads to God? Making gulaal from flowers trampled by feet, shoes, and vehicles is an insult to Sanatan culture, and Congress should answer.

State Congress Communications Department chief Sushil Anand Shukla has said that the flowers used for bouquets; could later be used to make perfume, manure or gulaal. Why is Rajesh Moonat worried about Sanatan Dharma? Rajesh Moonat’s ancestors had left religion and belief from Sanatan Dharma and tradition. We, the people of Sanatan Dharma, can worry about religion and faith; and Rajesh Munat doesn’t need to concern himself about it.

Self-help group, women are making gulaal from roses at Kalp Taru Center located in Chherikhedi, Raipur. These are the same roses that were on the road to Nava Raipur to welcome them. Apart from this, the women will utilise flowers used in the Congress convention to make gulaal.

On February 25, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi reached Raipur to participate in the 85th National Convention of Congress. Six thousand five hundred roses were spread like a carpet on the road for about two kilometres in front of Raipur airport to welcome her. When Priyanka Gandhi came, the Congressmen welcomed her by showering more roses.
