BJP meet tomorrow on voter list revision; Shiv Prakash to attend

Raipur
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has convened a meeting on Wednesday at the Kushabhau Thakre Parisar in Raipur regarding the ongoing Special Summary Revision (SSR) of the electoral rolls in Chhattisgarh.
BJP National Joint General Secretary (Organisation) and State in-charge Shiv Prakash will attend the meeting.
Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai, all state government Ministers, Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs), Members of Parliament (MPs), along with all district presidents and key office-bearers, are scheduled to participate. The meeting’s primary objective is to provide detailed information about the SSR process and prepare party workers to assist the public through outreach programmes.
BJP State General Secretary Naveen Markandey stated that the Congress party is “spreading confusion among the public” regarding the SSR. He added that the BJP aims to disseminate correct information to the people and counter the Congress’s “misinformation campaign.”
Markandey pointed out that the Election Commission of India (ECI) has initiated the SSR process in 12 states, including Chhattisgarh. The BJP will play an active role in assisting the public during this process.
Party sources indicate that Shiv Prakash will brief the workers on how to assist people with the process of adding names, making corrections, or deleting duplicate entries in the electoral roll during the SSR. The party will also launch a public awareness campaign to ensure every eligible voter’s name is included in the list.
Shiv Prakash will arrive in Raipur from Delhi on the morning of 5 November and will hold detailed discussions on the SSR with party officials in the afternoon. The meeting is considered important in view of upcoming electoral preparations.
The BJP will assign the responsibility of creating awareness about the SSR to its Ministers, MLAs, and MPs. These leaders will also be tasked with countering Opposition statements and highlighting the benefits of the SSR to the public.
