RAIPUR: Pandri police rescued a one-year-old boy within just two-and-a-half hours after his father allegedly took him away forcibly following a domestic dispute on November 3, 2026. The child was safely reunited with his mother. In a heartwarming gesture, police personnel also celebrated the toddler’s first birthday by cutting a cake at the police station.
According to police, Priya Pandey (26) married Lakesh Singh Banjare in 2022. However, due to family disputes, the couple had been living separately for the past seven to eight months.
On November 3, at around 11 am, Banjare reached Pandey’s residence in Daldal Sevani, where an argument broke out between them. He allegedly abused and physically assaulted the woman.
At around 5 pm, when Banjare attempted to take the child away, a neighbour, Ruby Priya Manikpuri, sheltered the toddler at her house.
Later, at around 6 pm, when Pandey visited Pandri police station to lodge a complaint, the accused allegedly forcibly took away the one-year-old boy along with her mobile phone. He neither returned the child nor provided any clear information about his whereabouts.
Following the complaint, DCP North Zone Deepmala Kashyap, Additional DCP Aditya Pandey and ACP Pandri Krishna Kumar Chandrakar directed Pandri police station in-charge Paresh Pandey to trace the child immediately.
Acting on the instructions, police teams launched a search operation and traced the child within two-and-a-half hours. The toddler was safely rescued and reunited with his mother.
Police Celebrate Toddler’s First Birthday
Coincidentally, November 3 was also the child’s first birthday. To bring a smile to the family after the stressful incident, Pandri police personnel celebrated the occasion by cutting a cake at the police station.

Police have registered a case against Lakesh Singh Banjare (28), a resident of Bagdehi Para, Tarri Road, Gobra Nawapara, under Sections 296 and 115(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Pandri police station.
