Raipur: A group of 51 students and faculty members from Sainik School, Ambikapur, visited a newspaper printing plant in Raipur on Thursday to gain practical exposure to print media operations.
The visiting group included students from Classes VI to XII, including the school’s academic toppers. The visit aimed to provide them with a comprehensive understanding of newspaper production, covering content preparation, computer-to-plate (CTP) processing, printing, machine operations and distribution.
Students observed how CTP plates are prepared and mounted on printing presses, witnessed the functioning of printing towers, and learned how finished copies are bundled for morning distribution.
The tour also included MBA interns from Shankaracharya College, Sejbahar, and Amity University, Raipur, who are currently undergoing internships. The session provided the interns with practical insights into the print journalism ecosystem beyond their academic curriculum.
Plant production team members Ashwin Bajpai and Amit Singh guided the visitors through the facility, explaining the technical workflow and printing machinery.
The visit was conceptualised and coordinated by Vinay Shaw, Regional Market Development (RMD) Head, Raipur, with the objective of providing practical industry exposure to students and interns.
