Raipur
School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav chaired a state-level review meeting of the School Education Department at Deendayal Auditorium, Science College Ground, Raipur on Tuesday. Officials reviewed academic activities, infrastructure development, digital education, and the progress of various departmental schemes across Chhattisgarh.
Minister Yadav directed officials to clear pending tasks within set timelines and ensure complete implementation of all government schemes.
Digital push and administrative clarity
The meeting covered online attendance of teachers and staff, registration on the VSK and CG School portals, and pending applications under the Chief Minister Helpline. The minister instructed officials to update departmental portal data on time. He also directed time-bound action on suspension, reinstatement, and court cases pending over the last two years.

Focus on basic amenities and academic quality
Under infrastructure development, officials reviewed the gap analysis for the Swami Vivekanand Excellence School Scheme and construction work in schools lacking girls’ toilets. Minister Yadav ordered physical verification of all completed repair and construction projects.
With upcoming examinations in mind, he instructed officers to complete the syllabus on time and track student progress through continuous evaluation. He emphasized regular classroom use of smart classes and ICT resources, rather than keeping them limited to paper provisions. He also cautioned officials to ensure proper utilization of budgets under the PM SHRI scheme and Samagra Shiksha.
Bagless Days and co-curricular activities
Minister Yadav issued directives to make ‘Bagless Days’ on Saturdays more effective. He stated that schools must engage students in yoga, sports, physical training and creative activities. He urged institutions to promote NSS, NCC and Scout-Guide activities to build discipline, leadership skills and national awareness among students.
Monthly reviews to track progress
The minister announced that the department will review implementation of government directives every month. District-wise reviews will be conducted based on monthly progress reports, and negligence at any level will attract action.
Divisional Joint Directors of Public Instruction, District Education Officers (DEOs), District Mission Coordinators (Samagra Shiksha), District Sports Officers and Block Education Officers (BEOs) attended the meeting.
