Raipur: While interacting with chief minister Bhupesh Baghel during ‘Bhent-Mulaqat Abhiyan’ today, farmer Malakar said that he cultivates paddy on his 7 acres of land. He has got a benefit of Rs 18,000 from the two installments he received under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana this year.
When asked, he replied Chief Minister that he has used the money for bore well drilling on his farm. This has helped him in growing vegetables all year long. He said that he is practicing bitter gourd farming using the mulching technique on around 2.5 acres of land with assistance from the horticulture department. The Chief Minister made a quip and asked him what he bought for his daughter-in-law from the profit he made. Malakar informed that he is saving money for his son’s marriage.
