Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government has convened a meeting with representatives of employee unions on July 29 to discuss the implementation of the cashless healthcare scheme announced in the 2026-27 state budget.
The meeting, to be held at Mahanadi Bhawan, has been called by the Health Secretary following directions from Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and the Chief Minister’s Secretariat to hold consultations with employee representatives before the scheme is rolled out.
The move comes after Chhattisgarh Karmachari Adhikari Federation state convener Kamal Verma submitted a representation to Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain on July 7, seeking consultations on the proposed scheme.
In his representation, Verma said the delay in issuing operational guidelines had created uncertainty among state employees. He pointed out that key aspects of the scheme, including eligibility norms, empanelled hospitals and treatment protocols, are yet to be finalised.
“The meeting will deliberate on the technical aspects of the policy so that clear operational guidelines can be framed for state employees,” Verma said. He also urged affiliated employee unions to submit their suggestions and feedback before the July 29 meeting.
