Raipur: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) and Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday submitted charge-sheets in two separate corruption cases before special courts in Baikunthpur and Bemetara.
In the first case, the EOW filed a nearly 3,000-page charge-sheet before the Special Court under the Prevention of Corruption Act in Baikunthpur, Koriya district, against Rajendra Singh Kshatriya (63), a retired seed manager.
Kshatriya, who served as a production assistant and later retired as seed manager from the Chhattisgarh State Seeds and Agriculture Development Corporation Limited at Ajirma in Surguja district, was arrested on July 17, 2026, under Sections 13(1)(b) and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, as amended in 2018.
According to the investigation, Kshatriya allegedly spent ₹11.28 crore during the check period despite having a known income of ₹6 crore, resulting in disproportionate assets worth ₹5.28 crore, or 87.96% in excess of his legitimate income. He is currently lodged in judicial custody at the district jail in Baikunthpur.
In the second case, the EOW filed a charge-sheet before the Special Judge (Prevention of Corruption Act) in Bemetara against head constable Ajay Lahare, who was posted at Khamhariya police station.
The agency alleged that Lahare had demanded a bribe of ₹20,000 from Anish Patel, a resident of Khairjhitikala village, in return for weakening a criminal case registered against Patel’s family members under Sections 296, 351(3), 115(2) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The EOW arrested Lahare in a trap operation after allegedly catching him accepting ₹15,000 as part of the demanded bribe. He has been charge-sheeted under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
