Raipur: The School Education Department on Thursday directed all District Education Officers (DEOs) to terminate the services of striking guest teachers if they fail to resume duty by July 27, citing disruption to teaching in government schools since the beginning of the new academic session.
In a directive issued to DEOs, the department said guest teachers engaged under the teaching arrangement through Shala Prabandh Samitis have remained on strike for several days, adversely affecting classroom instruction and students’ learning. The department instructed DEOs to ensure that the respective Shala Prabandh Samitis direct these teachers to report back to their assigned schools by July 27.
The order further states that if guest teachers fail to rejoin by the deadline, their teaching arrangements must be terminated with immediate effect under Clause 7.3 of the applicable guidelines. DEOs have also been instructed to make alternative teaching arrangements to ensure that academic activities continue without disruption and students’ education is not adversely affected.
