Assembly Debate: Opposition moves no-confidence motion against Sai government, heated scenes on the last day of the monsoon session

Raipur: The Chhattisgarh Assembly witnessed a heated debate on the final day of the monsoon session as the Congress moved a no-confidence motion against the BJP government led by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. Leader of the Opposition Dr. Charan Das Mahant initiated the discussion by tabling a 136-point chargesheet against the government.
During the debate, BJP MLA Ajay Chandrakar objected, saying it was unprecedented for the Leader of the Opposition to begin the discussion on a no-confidence motion. He argued that it reflected a lack of confidence in the opposition leader within his own party.
Responding to the remarks, former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel asked opposition MLAs to raise their hands in support of Dr. Charan Das Mahant.
Following this, Ajay Chandrakar said the situation had turned comical, remarking that while the opposition had brought a no-confidence motion against the government, the Leader of the Opposition had to seek visible support from his own colleagues on the floor of the House.
