ACB files chargesheet against Raigarh official in bribery case

Raipur: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Bilaspur Unit, on Thursday filed a chargesheet against Anil Chelak, a clerk posted at the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Office in Dharamjaigarh, Raigarh district, in the court of the Special Judge under the Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act, Raigarh, in connection with a bribery case.

According to officials, Anil Chelak was caught red-handed on June 2, 2026, while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹1 lakh from Raju Kumar Yadav, a resident of Amlitikra village. The accused had allegedly demanded the money in exchange for resolving a pending complaint against the complainant.

Following the successful trap operation, the ACB registered a case against the accused under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018) for allegedly accepting illegal gratification.

After completing the investigation, the ACB submitted the final investigation report (chargesheet) before the Special Court under the Prevention of Corruption Act in Raigarh on July 9, 2026. The case will now proceed for trial before the special court.
