BJYM stages massive agitation in protest against unemployment and law and law and order.
Raipur. Thousands of youths, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJYM) workers and BJP leaders staged massive demonstration in state capital Raipur on Wednesday in protest against problems of unemployment the youths of this state face and deteriorating law and order. Several senior BJP leaders, including former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, were arrested during their efforts to stage gherao at chief minister’s residence.
BJYM and BJP workers and leaders from across the state reached Raipur to participate in the historic protest called by the BJYM. The youth wing national president and MP Tajasvi Surya, BJP Chhattisgarh in-charge D Purandeswari also led from the front along with other senior leaders of the state – Brijmohan Agrawal, party state president Arun Sao, Rajya Sabha MP Saroj Pandey, BJP MPs of the state.
A large number of police forces were deployed to stop the agitators from reaching the chief minister’s residence, but the protesters did not managed to reach very close to the CM House breaking the barricades. There was also a clash between the police and the workers leading several protestors injured. Police resorted to lathi charge on the occasion to disperse the protestors.
The demonstration called ‘Halla Bol’ of BJYM claimed to have attracted nearly one lakh youths, BJP workers and leaders. BJP leaders fiercely targeted the state government.
It was said that former chief minister Dr Raman Singh, BJP MLA Saurabh Singh, former minister Kedar Kashyap were arrested. All the arrested leaders are being kept in a temporary jail and later released.
BJP workers broke the police barricades put up at OCM Chowk and Kalibadi Chowk.
Raipur MLA Brijmohan Agarwal, former minister Rajesh Munat were also arrested. Spokesperson Anurag Singhdeo was also detained.
The chief minister, Bhupesh Baghel, was given 3 months ultimatum to fulfill his poll promises on unemployment allowance of Rs 2500 per month to 10 lakh youths and job to one lakh youths or else another massive agitation will be staged.
Earlier, Tejasvi Surya told the media at the airport that there is a mafia rule in every department in Chhattisgarh. Crimes against women are increasing. The youth is facing the problem of unemployment and because of this the BJYM staged this demonstration.
