A delegation of students and youth from across Chhattisgarh was flagged off for Delhi from the campus of IIT Bhilai as part of Phase-VI of the Yuva Sangam programme under the Centre’s “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” initiative.
The delegation will visit Delhi from June 7 to 13 under the aegis of IIT Delhi, participating in a nationwide youth exchange programme aimed at promoting cultural understanding, national integration and people-to-people connections among young citizens from different states and Union Territories.
The orientation and flag-off ceremony, held on June 6 at IIT Bhilai, was attended by Durg Collector and District Magistrate Abhijeet Singh and IIT Bhilai Director Rajiv Prakash. Interacting with the delegates, the dignitaries encouraged them to make the most of the opportunity by engaging in cultural exchange, academic interactions and experiential learning during their visit.
Yuva Sangam is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Education that seeks to provide immersive exposure to India’s diverse cultural heritage, traditions, technological advancements and developmental achievements. The programme is built around five key themes — Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions and Culture), Pragati (Development and Governance), Prodyogiki (Technology and Innovation), and Paraspar Sampark (People-to-People Connect).
Under the sixth phase of the programme, IIT Delhi and IIT Bhilai have been paired to facilitate the exchange between Delhi and Chhattisgarh. During their week-long stay, the delegates will participate in a range of educational, cultural and developmental activities designed to showcase India’s diversity while strengthening the spirit of unity and national integration.
The event concluded with the ceremonial flag-off of the delegation from the IIT Bhilai campus amid enthusiasm and patriotic fervour, marking the beginning of an enriching cross-cultural learning experience for the participating youth.
