Use AI, modern technology to improve power supply: CSPC chairman Subodh Kumar Singh

Raipur:
Chhattisgarh State Power Companies (CSPC) chairman Subodh Kumar Singh on Friday directed officials to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) and modern technologies to strengthen power supply and improve consumer services across the state.

Chairing a review meeting of the generation, transmission and distribution companies at the Danganiya headquarters, Singh said ensuring uninterrupted and quality electricity supply remains the top priority of the power companies.

He instructed officials to adopt AI-based and technology-driven systems to build a more consumer-centric electricity network. Stressing the need for data-driven decision-making, Singh said advanced technologies should be utilised to enhance fault detection, load management and grievance redressal mechanisms.

Singh emphasised that personnel at every level — from senior officers to field linemen — should be trained in modern working methods to improve operational efficiency, monitoring systems and overall service quality. He also held separate review sessions with the three wings of the power companies to assess the progress of ongoing projects.

The CSPC chairman directed officials to expedite the construction of new infrastructure and ensure completion of pending projects within stipulated timelines. He also instructed authorities to strengthen the 1912 toll-free call centre to reduce complaint response time and ensure prompt resolution of consumer grievances.

“Timely redressal of consumer complaints is one of the primary responsibilities of the power companies,” Singh said during the meeting.

The review meeting was attended by Generation Company managing director SK Katiyar, Transmission Company managing director Rajesh Kumar Shukla, Distribution Company managing director Bhim Singh Kanwar and other senior officials.
